Being licensed means the association is not simply a body collecting money in the name of charity: it answers to a government regulator, the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development under licence number 1000598500, under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, bound by approved articles of association, and required to file audited annual financial statements. Its unified national number is 7040875879, and it was licensed on 14/05/2024.

The articles of association — what we are permitted to do

The articles set out the association's purposes, its geographic scope, the rules of membership, the general assembly, the board and how decisions are taken, ending with the rules for dissolving the association and disposing of its funds. They are issued under the Associations and Foundations Law, its implementing regulation and the governance rules. In other words: they are the limit we may not cross, and they are published, not withheld.

The board — who decides

The board is elected by the general assembly. It sets policy, approves the strategic plan and the annual budget, and follows the delivery of the licensed programs and the discipline of spending. Its first term runs four years, from 14/05/2024 to 14/05/2028, and the names and capacities of its five members are published by name — because responsibility cannot be anonymous.

The financial statements — what we did with the money

The association discloses its financial statements for the year ending 31 December, audited and accompanied by an independent auditor's report — which gives the figures an external footing that does not rest on the association's own word. They comprise the four principal statements: financial position, activities, cash flows, and changes in net assets, together with the notes explaining the accounting policies and the detail behind each line.

Objectives and activities — what we are licensed for

The association has nine approved objectives and eleven licensed activities, and we do not work outside them. Every project we raise funds for carries, on top of that, its own licence with a number, a term and a target amount, published on its page alongside how much has actually been raised — so the figures you read are calculated from the association's records, not written for display.
