Our programs and initiatives

1) Relief — a need that stands today

Water supply brings clean drinking water to families in need and to the people of the villages and outlying areas — bought, carried by tanker and stored in tanks — over one hundred and fifty days covering the survey and planning, then the supply, then the follow-up and record-keeping. AndHome renovation inspects the homes of people on low incomes, social security beneficiaries, widows and divorced women, ranks them by how far the decay threatens safety, and then carries out the work: a roof repaired, a bathroom built, pipework replaced. AndAir-conditioning repair and replacement deals with a summer without cooling in families that cannot afford it, giving priority to homes with older people, children or illness, and follows the installation through until the unit works. AndThe Giving Kitchen is a working kitchen run by the association, serving healthy meals to the families most in need of care, buying its supplies from the governorate's own shops and farms so the money stays local, and opening jobs and training inside it.

2) Training and qualification — a skill that outlasts the support

The training courses for job seekers raise the readiness of young men and women for the labour market: professional, technical and personal skills, workshops on writing a CV and handling an interview, and then introductions to jobs with local employers. AndDeveloping study skills runs for eight months inside the governorate's schools and universities, raising attainment, addressing students who are falling behind, and teaching revision and time management. AndWomen's Empowerment prepares women looking for work and women who want to start a business, in intakes of three to six months, ending in an accredited professional certificate and an introduction to a job or to funding. AndYouth of Values works with young people aged sixteen to thirty-five on character and skill together, and involves them in volunteering projects that serve their own community.

3) Economic empowerment — so a family can stand on its own

Support for Productive Families is the project by which we really measure ourselves: a family that already has a productive skill is given the tools and raw materials, trained to improve, package, price and sell its product online, and introduced to local markets and fairs — until work done at home becomes a steady income that takes the family off the beneficiary lists.

4) Care and community life

A Touch of Loyalty for the Elderly lists the governorate's older people and visits them, checks on their health and their circumstances, brings care packages and essentials, and holds gatherings in their honour, with priority for those who have no one to care for them. AndSupport for couples about to marry eases the financial burden that delays the start of a family, and is given under rules that establish need and respect priority. AndThe Mahd Folk Festival is an annual event that brings out the local heritage and gives productive families and craftspeople a place to sell what they make, bringing economic and tourist activity to the governorate.

How is a beneficiary chosen?

Every project publishes its eligibility conditions on its own page — living in Mahd Governorate or its villages first, then need established against the association's criteria, with priority for the most pressing cases. And a beneficiary does not need to write to us: they apply through the beneficiary registration form stating their category — a productive family, a social security beneficiary, or someone on a low income — and the team reviews the application, verifies its details, recommends the right programme and makes contact within forty-eight working hours.

And how is the money spent?

A donation is allocated to the project the donor chooses at the point of payment, and each project's page shows how much of the target published in its licence has been raised. The audited financial statements are published annually, and governance reports go to the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development as the body that licenses and supervises us.
